Boys’ Dorm Acquires New Piano Featured
Gentlemen residing at the Boys’ Dormitory will now enjoy live accompaniment
during their morning and evening devotional with the arrival of their newly-purchased piano.
The PhP85,000.00-worth piano is the project of the current Boys’ Dorm officers under the leadership of their president, Mr. Jay Sam Salloman. To be able to come up with the said amount, officers solicited for funds from the presidents of the different conferences in the Central Philippine Union Conference (CPUC) territory during the Bible Conference held last month in the campus. Even CPUC had pitched in PhP20,000.00 for the said project.
Through the kindness of Dr. Heidi Cerna, the head of the Music Department, the purchase of the brand-new Kawai piano was realized on August 24, 2017 when she paved the way for its purchase even without its full payment. The rest of the payment will come from the contributions of the dorm residents, said the Boys’ Dorm dean, Mr. Romeo Bandiola.
Five days after its purchase, on August 29, the musical instrument was dedicated during a special evening worship, with Pastor Jessie Aragon, the Human Resource director, as the speaker.
On the same occasion, the elected officers of the Boys’ Dormitory were also inducted and dedicated. The officers are: Mr. Jay Sam Salloman, President; Mr. Jud Renoir Luel Edrial, Vice-President; Mr. Besael Baccol, Secretary; Mr. Erlian Dave Cordova, Treasurer; and Mr. Russhelle Wayne Perocho, P.I.O.
Through this project, the officers look forward to a better and meaningful morning and evening worship experience. Also, it can be used by singing groups who wish to have their practice in the worship hall or by those residents who want to practice playing the piano.
