There are many platforms of online learning that has been widely used in the world, even before the COVID-19 pandemic. One of these is Moodle.

Moodle has been one of the leading learning management systems globally and has been used by thousands of schools around the world.

Moodle was developed by Martin Dougiamas, an educator and a computer scientist who hails from Perth, Australia. Dougiamas grew up in a community where education is much needed. He addressed this problem through research. His study, “The use of Open Source software to support a social constructionist epistemology of teaching and learning within Internet-based communities of reflective inquiry,” only developed Moodle as part of experimentation in delivering education online. However, it became popular worldwide.

“In 2019, Moodle had the most number of users, boasting 104,000 registered sites with 164 million users in 225 territories worldwide.”

CPAC is now one of the benefactors of Moodle and uses it as the primary Learning Management System for delivering learning materials online.

The world continues to progress in technology. And CPAC endeavors to catch up with the ever-rising demand for online education.
